【摘要】:Thisisanacceleratedengineoiltest,performedinastandardized,calibrated,stationarysingle-cylinderdieselenginethatgivesameasureof(1)pistonandringgroovedepositformingtendency,(2)piston,ringandlinerscuffingand(3)oilconsumption.ThetestisusedintheestablishmentofdieselengineoilspecificationrequirementsascitedinSpecificationD4485forappropriateAPIPerformanceCategoryCoils(API1509).Thetestmethodcanalsobeusedindieselengineoildevelopment.1.1ThistestmethodisrequiredtoevaluatetheperformanceofengineoilsintendedtosatisfycertainAmericanPetroleumInstitute(API)Cservicecategories(includedinSpecificationD4485).Itisperformedinalaboratoryusingastandardizedhigh-speed,single-cylinderdieselengine.Pistonandringgroovedeposit-formingtendencyandoilconsumptionismeasured.Thepiston,therings,andthelinerarealsoexaminedfordistressandtheringsformobility.1.2AllmeasurementsmadeinaccordancewiththisstandardshallusetheSIsystemofunits.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Beinganenginetestmethod,thisstandarddoeshavedefinitehazardsthatrequiresafepractices(seeonSafety).
