【摘要】:1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthesteady-statethermaltransmissionpropertiesofflat-slabspecimensofthermalinsulationusingathinheaterofuniformpowerdensityhavinglowlateralheatflow.Athinheaterwithlowlateralthermalconductancecanreduceunwantedlateralheatflowandavoidtheneedforactive-edgeguarding.1.2Thisprimarytestmethodofthermal-transmissionmeasurementdescribesaprinciple,ratherthanaparticularapparatus.Theprincipleinvolvesdeterminationofthethermalfluxacrossaspecimenofknownthicknessandthetemperaturesofthehotandcoldfacesofthespecimen.1.3Considerablelatitudeisgiventothedesigneroftheapparatusinthistestmethod;sinceavarietyofdesignsispossible,aprocedureforqualifyinganapparatusisgivenin.1.4Thespecimensmustmeetthefollowingconditionsifthermalresistanceorthermalconductanceofthespecimenistobedeterminedbythistestmethod:1.4.1Theportionofthespecimenovertheisothermalareaoftheheatermustaccuratelyrepresentthewholespecimen.1.4.2Theremainderofthespecimenshouldnotdistorttheheatflowinthatpartofthespecimendefinedin.1.4.3Thespecimenshallbethermallyhomogeneoussuchthatthethermalconductivityisnotafunctionofthepositionwithinthesample,butrathermaybeafunctionofdirection,time,andtemperature.Thespecimenshallbefreeofholes,ofhigh-densityvolumes,andofthermalbridgesbetweenthetestsurfacesorthespecimenedges.1.4.4TestMethodC177describesteststhatcanhelpascertainwhetherconditionsofaresatisfied.Forthepurposesofthistestmethod,differencesinthemeasurementsoflessthan2%maybeconsideredinsignificant,andtherequirementsfulfilled.1.5Thespecimensshallmeetoneofthefollowingrequirements,inadditiontothoseof.1.5.1IfhomogeneousmaterialsasdefinedinTerminologyC168aretested,thenthethermalresistivityandthermalconductivitycanbedeterminedbythistestmethod.1.5.2Ifmaterialswhicharelayeredorotherwisethermallyinhomogeneousaretested,thermalresistanceandthermalconductancecanbedeterminedbythistestmethod.1.6Twoversionsofthin-heaterapparatususingthesameprincipleofthestandardaredescribedinand.Theyaresimilarinconceptbutdifferinsizeandconstruction,andhencewarrantseparatedescriptionsforeachdesign.Thistestmethodinnowaylimitsthesizeofthethin-heaterelement.Oneoftheunitsdescribedusesathinmetalfoil,whiletheotherusesametalscreenastheheatsource.Thesmaller,foilapparatusisdesignedtomakerapidmeasurementsofheattransmissionthroughspecimensasthinas0.5cmandasthickas2cm;however,anapparatususingafoilheatercouldbedesignedtomeasuremuchthickermaterials,ifdesired.Thelarger,screenapparatusisdesignedtomeasurespecimenswiththicknessesbetween3and15cm,wheretheexactlimitsdependonthethermalresistanceofthespecimens.Bothapparatusesusethermocouplesformeasuringtemperature,butothertemperature-sensingsystemscanbeused.1.7Thistestmethodcoversthetheoryandprinciplesofthemeasurementtechnique.Itdoesnotprovidedetailsofconstructionotherthanthoserequiredtoillustratetwodeviceswhichmeettheprescribedrequirements.DetailedinformationisavailableinReferences()andtheAdjunct.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
