【摘要】:Diisocyanatesareusedintheproductionofpolyurethanefoams,plastics,elastomers,surfacecoatings,andadhesives(5,6).IthasbeenestimatedthattheproductionofTDIwillsteadilyincreaseduringthefutureyears.Diisocyanatesareirritantstoeyes,skin,andmucousmembraneandarerespiratorysensitizers.Chronicexposuretolowconcentrationsofdiisocyanatesproducesanallergicsensitizationwhichmayprogressintoasthmaticbronchitis(7,8).TheOccupationalSafetyandHealthAdministration(OSHA)hasapermissibleexposurelimit(PEL)for2,4-TDIof0.02ppmor0.14mg/m3asaceilinglimit.ThereisnoOSHAPELfor2,6x2013;TDI(9).TheAmericanConferenceofGovernmentalIndustrialHygienists(ACGIH)hasatimex2013;weightedaverage(TWA)ThresholdLimitValue(TLV)of0.005ppmor0.036mg/m3andashort-termexposurelimit(STEL)of0.02ppmor0.14mg/m3foreither2,4x2013;TDI,or2,6x2013;TDI,orforamixtureof2,4x2013;and2,6x2013;TDI(10).Thisproposedtestmethodhasbeenfoundsatisfactoryformeasuring2,4and2,6-TDIlevelsintheworkplace.1.1Thistestmethoddescribesthedeterminationof2,4-toluenediisocyanate(2,4-TDI)and2,6-toluenediisocyanate(2,6-TDI)inairsamplescollectedfromworkplaceatmospheresinacassettecontainingaglass-fiberfilterimpregnatedwith1-(2-pyridyl)piperazine(1-2PP).Thisprocedureisveryeffectivefordeterminingthevaporcontentofatmospheres.AtmospherescontainingaerosolscauseTDIresultstobeunderestimated.1.2Thistestmethodusesahigh-performanceliquidchromatograph(HPLC)equippedwithafluorescenceoranultraviolet(UV)detector(1-4).,1.3Thevalidatedrangeofthetestmethod,aswritten,isfrom1.4to5.6x03BC;gof2,4-TDIand2,6-TDIwhichisequivalenttoapproximately9.8to39ppbfor2,4-TDIand2,6-TDIbasedona20-Lairsample.TheHPLCmethodusinganUVdetectoriscapableofdetecting0.078x03BC;gof2,4-TDIand0.068x03BC;gof2,6-TDIina4.0-mLsolventvolume,whichisequivalentto0.55ppbfor2,4-TDIand0.48ppbfor2,6-TDIbasedona20-Lairsample.1.4Theisomersof2,4-TDI,and2,6-TDI,canbeseparatedutilizingareversedphasecolumnfortheHPLCmethod.Becauseindustrialapplicationsemployanisomericmixtureof2,4-and2,6-TDI,theabilitytoachievethisseparationisimportant.1.5ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.SeeSection9forspecificprecautions.

【摘要】:Linearshrinkage,asusedinthistestmethod,referstothechangeinlineardimensionsthathasoccurredintestspecimensaftertheyhavebeensubjectedtosoakingheatforaperiodof24handthencooledtoroomtemperature.Mostinsulatingmaterialswillbegintoshrinkatsomedefinitetemperature.Usuallytheamountofshrinkageincreasesasthetemperatureofexposurebecomeshigher.Eventuallyatemperaturewillbereachedatwhichtheshrinkagebecomesexcessive.Withexcessiveshrinkage,theinsulatingmaterialhasdefinitelyexceededitsusefultemperaturelimit.Whenaninsulatingmaterialisappliedtoahotsurface,theshrinkagewillbegreatestonthehotface.Thedifferentialshrinkagewhichresultsbetweenthehotterandthecoolersurfacesoftenintroducesstrainsandmaycausetheinsulationtowarp.Highshrinkagemaycauseexcessivewarpageandtherebymayinducecracking,bothofwhichareundesirable.Highshrinkagemayalsoopengapsattheinsulationjointstoanexcessiveextentrenderingtheapplicationlessefficientandmorehazardous.Inordertopredictthelimitofpermissibleshrinkageinservice,thedegreeoflinearshrinkagetobetoleratedbyspecimensofaninsulatingmaterialwhensubjectedtosoakingheatmustbedeterminedfromexperience.Itisrecognizedthatafixedrelationbetweenlinearshrinkageundersoakingheatandactualshrinkageinservicecannotbeestablishedfordifferenttypesofinsulatingmaterials.Generallytheamountofshrinkageincreaseswithtimeofexposure.Theamountandrateofincreasevariesfromonematerialtoanother.Inaddition,thevarioustypesofmaterialsmayhavedifferentamountsofmaximumpermissibleshrinkage.Therefore,eachproductmustdefineitsownspecificlimitsoflinearshrinkageundersoakingheat.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationoftheamountoflinearshrinkageandotherchangesthatoccurwhenapreformedthermalinsulatingmaterialisexposedtosoakingheat.Thistestmethodislimitedtopreformedhigh-temperatureinsulationthatisapplicabletohot-sidetemperaturesinexcessof200x00B0;F(93x00B0;C),withtheexceptionofinsulatingfirebrickwhichiscoveredbyTestMethodC210.1.2Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
